Letter From the President

Honorable Delegates Of UNWOMEN:

It is with great honor and privilege that I welcome you to this year’s (UN Women) committee. My name is Zaina Malkawi, and I have the distinct pleasure of serving as your President for this committee. I am eager to witness the insightful debates, thoughtful resolutions, and meaningful discussions.

This year, our committee will focus on two pressing topics: Addressing the Issues of Palestinian Women and The Challenges Faced by Women in Iran After the Death of Mahsa Amini.

Firstly,The situation of Palestinian women remains a significant concern, as they continue to face gender-based violence, political instability, and socioeconomic hardships.

In addition, we will examine the challenges faced by women in Iran following the tragic death of Mahsa Amini. Her passing ignited widespread protests and shed light on the systemic oppression and discrimination women face in the country.

As we embark on this journey together, I encourage all delegates to engage in meaningful discussions, approach debates with diplomacy and respect, and strive for innovative solutions that uphold the principles of gender equality and human rights. I look forward to witnessing the impactful contributions you will bring to this committee.

Sincerely,

Zaina Malkawi
