Dear Delegates of the Security Council, 

 

Welcome to the 13th annual AsriyyaMUN conference!

My name is Yasmeen Gharaibeh, last year's Head of Conference, and it is my honour to be returning this year  as the president of this prestigious forum. 

 

The Security Council in my very honest opinion is the greatest and most special forum in model UN. It allows all participants to engage in rich and principal debates ,defend their foreign policies  and understand the topics at hand on a much broader level compared to any other forum; it is all about revealing hidden agendas and discovering what the naked eye can't see and who doesn't love a puzzle. 

 

Even though war in the Security Council is unavoidable, you are no longer simply acting for yourselves; you are also speaking for and making decisions for whole nations. Be wise since your actions will determine the future of international peace and security. 

 

I am hoping that the delegates of this year’s security council will do their absolute best to address  both issues at hand; my  advice for you all is to read the study sheets very well, research the topics in detail (the study sheets include very helpful links and sources), understand your foreign policies, find out everything your country has done in regards of each topic in the past and is doing currently and come to the conference ready unveil some hidden secrets agendas! I am confident that the delegates will be able to dissect each issue and come up with just, peaceful, and long-lasting realistic solutions, despite how controversial and complicated these topics may be.

 

Over the course of the 3-day conference, I hope that you all leave with a remarkable experience allowing you all to grow as debaters and as individuals in general ; and I sincerely hope you make the best out of it  because AsriyyaMUN is full of significant life lessons and  has changed me for the better a lot as a person and I hope that it does the same for you! 

 

 

I certainly can't wait to meet each and every one of you and watch you engage in the upstanding debates! Please don't hesitate to seek help from me or any members of the chairing panel anytime before or during the conference.
