THE BEGINNING

It all began when a group of Asriyya students were invited to attend the annual Amman Baccalaureate MUN (AMMUN) conference in 2010.  The students were immediately bitten by the MUN bug and during the same academic year, went on to attend two more conferences, one at the Modern American School (MASMUN) and one at the Lebanese American University in Lebanon. At the end of May in 2011, the same group of students held their first in-house conference; AsriyyaMUN was born!
During the following academic year, AsriyyaMUN was structured with a formal secretariat put in position to plan and run a conference, inviting local schools to attend in March 2012. The conference was a great success with a total of 110 delegates attending.

Over the years, the conference has grown and developed, reaching a maximum of 300 delegates! AsriyyaMUN participants have attended many many conferences since its early days, both local and international.  Students have travelled to the U.K., Italy, Greece, and Turkey representing AsriyyaMUN as delegates, Chairs and Presidents.

Today, AsriyyaMUN is in its 13th year and has grown to become one of the top MUN conferences held in Amman.
